The October 28th camp was a success with and increase of students participating. already, a number of parents have registered their kids for the remains camps of the year. It is our hope to keep increasing the number of kids that register as well as improve the information learned and fun of the camps. The next camp will be chemistry themed on February 24th. In other new, the SNHS soap making project will be on November 11th.

On October 25th, the SNHS had it's first induction ceremony, and went well. This should mark the beginning of following ceremonies and growth of the society. In other news, the biology camp is tomorrow. The number of kids and volunteers has increased since the first one. In fact, there are now more volunteers than kids, a good problem to have. With biology + halloween activities planned, we hope they will enjoy the camp and learn something too.
On September 30th, the first science camp of the year was conducted. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend due to marching band rehearsal. At first there was a lack of volunteers and things seemed to be on the cusp of falling apart, however they arrived late and the day was saved. Minus that hiccup, I've been told that the day was a success and that the kids were looking forward to the next camp. It's interesting to see that activities that high schoolers see as boring are extremely exciting for younger children. That camp will be on October 28th and will be biology and halloween themed. I will also be unable to attend this due to a semi-state competition. A few students are already signed up for all camps and I expect to see continued growth of the program throughout the year.
